Went out this morning for my 5th consolidation run. I went out slightly later than usual as I struggled to wake up. I thought I would go a different route today as a change. I have not run that route since week 7 and really wasn't expecting to go very far in the 30 minutes as I thought I would just slow down even further today. At 30 minutes I went to stop Strava to find that I was 200m short of the 5k so I decided to carry on (20 sec walk while looking at Strava). It wasn't my fastest 5k but its now recorded on (not) Parkrun so I'll take it.
Due to ankle issues I'm back to alternating my shoes and today was a day for the old shoes. I really felt the difference today and the run certainly felt like a plod compared to when I wear my new shoes. It is surprising the difference running shoes actually make to your run. Looking forward to my next run on Thursday.
Happy running everyone and good luck to everyone running today.
