Wk8 R2 - total tech meltdown

Jumped....uhhh....Crawled out of bed at 5:31am after a 2 min “will I, Won’t I” argument with myself.

20 mins and a dynamic warm up later .....

I’m on my uphill warm up channeling my inner cheetah and my left earphone plays a little ditty and promptly dies just as Jo says “so if you’re ready.....”. Inner panic sets in...what will happen? Will I hear the beat properly to run to? Will I hear Jo tell me to stop? Will I run in circles?? Only thing to do was carry on!

All going comfortably and Jo cuts in on my 1 working ear and says well done...you’ve been running for fielvereen minutes” what? WHAT?? How long?? Ok I ran this route last time....I know where I am....it’s 5 mins, I’ve been running for 5 mins!

I was so distracted by my semi deafness that the next 23 mins rushed by and before I knew it Jo was telling me to stop....I think.....but as I was where I was when she told me to stop last time, I judge she is saying stop!

So after my warm down, I stop and save my run on Strava and excitedly wait for my time and splits.....apprehension and excitement building...you’ve done....0 km. What? No...NO!! Look at the sweat on my forehead Strava, I must have ran a marathon I tell you....what do you mean I’ve ran 0km??

So what have I learnt? Tech is unreliable....Distraction really works!!! Wk8R2 was ok.....oh, and I might be slightly deaf in my right ear!!!

😅 yes, so annoying when tech tries to tell you what you did or did not experience and you actually start to doubt your reality! 😤 But way to go, runner! Nicely done! ✅

Oh I am so sorry but your post literally made me LOL 😂🤣 I'm glad you kept going though, that says a lot about your determination to get the job done!

It must be a day for tech issues though as my headphones wouldnt work this morning and after 5 mins of stressing and panic I actually thought it's a solid 30 min run just go do it but then I realised the volume on my phone was set on mute and the soothing voice of Jo came back into my head- phew😂

Keep doing what you're doing sounds like you are smashing it 💪

Don’t be sorry, I’m finding the humour in other people’s posts lately is motivation to keep going! Sometimes you have to have a good laugh at yourself! 😂😂. Good luck with your runs!

Sorry. It’s pure pants when technology lets you down. But this made me laugh. Great start to this day - America’s Independence Day! Happy 4th July peeps.
