Really wasn’t feeling it for the first time this morning, my knees felt a bit sore yesterday and my brain was doing that whiny voice telling me I’d struggle today.
Started out and the warm up walk felt like hard work. The first 5mins of the run felt like forever, legs so heavy. Had to consciously tell my legs to keep going. Then Sarah piped up and says I’m half way and I realise my legs don’t feel so heavy and I know I’ll make it to the end. Even managed a little spirt at the end.
It felt like I’d gone super slow the whole way round but I’d taken Sarah’s advice and tried a new route so it was hard to tell. Kept telling myself that speed doesn’t matter as long as I finish!
When I got back I checked the Adidas app and I’d actually gone faster than any other run (still 🐌 pace) but faster than I walk now so progress 😂 💪🏼
I don’t fixate on pace but it helps me mentally to know I’m improving and that my hard work is paying off and gives me hope that one day in the not too distant future I might be able to run a full 5k 🤞🏼
