Feeling better

Hello all! Well it’s been a strange few months. To be honest I’ve found that work has been so all consuming and family still needing me for support when not at work (and sometimes while at work), that I just couldn’t seem to get running. It was also a temperature issue, wayyyy too shattered to get up and run and still too hot when I finished work. I kind of almost deliberately switched off from running. I was aware of the forums because the notifications kept popping into my email but I studiously ignored them (sorry). Slowly my mood has dropped and my stress levels and weight have increased. My body felt weaker and I noticed a loss of muscle tone and definition. SO, I gave myself a shake and pulled on my gear alongside my new dog lead waist thingy and me and the dog are out 2-3 times a week. I feel so much better so quickly in mind and body. My legs feel springier when I walk, my brain feels more relaxed and I’m starting to sleep better. On Sunday morning I listened to bbc sounds Ed Sheeran Glastonbury headliner (I saw him in Leeds with one of my daughters last year). Wow, what a fabulous run (jog)! The wind was blowing, Ed was amazing, I cried, my legs felt like they had wings and I felt free. It was wonderful. It was only 2.5 miles, but my goodness the power of running, however slowly and however short/long the distance, should not be underestimated. Thanks all, for being here in spirit throughout and I hope you are all safe and well. MM. xxx
