Hi everyone. I’m a 58yr old woman, two stone overweight who hasn't done any exercise since my teens. I’ve got to Week 4 completing every run
So disappointed now for some reason I have had three attempts at Week 4 and only completed it once. I had one extra day off and tried again this morning. I did get extremely hot very quickly and then aches and pains (ankles and hip) kicked in along with cramp in my calf.
Does anyone have any tips or similar experience to help, please?

Hi, you could almost be writing about me. same age, weight, lack of exercise since school.
I also struggled with W4 and did a couple of repeats, I eventually got through this with positive thinking. There is a post on this forum about this. Keep going you will do this. I am now on w8 and have just done 28 minutes this morning and in a few weeks so will you.
Hi there, Thank you for your reply to my post. I did wonder about my mental state and whether I had built up a barrier in my head. I have dreamt about not being able to do it and feel as if I’m going to fail before I start. I will look at the post you suggested. Thank you! NOT going to give up!
You did it once, you can do it again. Maybe take a week off. It’s counterintuitive to take more rest when you’ve got a goal but I’ve found in the past it’s worked for me. Don’t beat yourself up. Your body’s not a machine. Be gentle and kind to it and it’ll get you wherever you want to go. Good luck!👍🏃♀️
I'm in awe, I'm only a year older but struggling in week 2, so you're efforts in my book are fantastic. I had to repeat week 1 a few times before completing it in one week, so I understand how you must feel.
Please don't give up, I'm looking at people like you to get me through my own struggles.
Yep same age, not exercised since school, still a couple of stone overweight even though I've lost a couple! I am now about to start week 7 - you can do it although your mind will try and tell you, you can't. Just keep trying, slow and steady and try and have an interesting podcast to take your mind of the running and suddenly you'll find your doing it. If anyone had told me at the end of week one that I would soon be running for twenty five minutes I would have openly laughed at them but this morning I did it.
