Running round the bend

Completed wk8 run 1 this morning. Went at 8am which is the earliest I can get my daughter out of bed to run on her days off. It was warm already but it was also my best run yet. Nothing ached for the first time and I was amazed when Michael said I was at the halfway point of 14 minutes 😁. I have changed my route a few times during this programme. I started on a local farmers field doing laps and apart from a few dog walkers, hidden from view. Then I drove to a local country park which has a 5k route around 2 lakes. This morning we ran around a new housing estate close by to where I live. I will be honest - I make sure my routes are flat 😏. I do think this change of route really helps though and for me the routes which go around a few corners rather than the long never ending lake path just seem psychologically better.

Well done! I've also just completed week 8 run 1. I might take your advice and change my route - so far I've just been running around the same roads near my house but a country park with lakes sounds wonderful! Good luck for the rest of the plan.

Well done on W8R1! This is my next one and like you I changed my routes for Wks7 as I kept getting injuries running a long flat boring path.

I use Strava now to plan my routes upfront and although I'm now running into town instead of out of town I no longer care how I look as I know how I feel once I finish these runs 💪😁🎉

Good luck with the rest of your runs - the finish line is in sight!

Well done, I’ve got that run later today, early to miss the heat I hope!

I’ve varied my route a bit, went for a walk yesterday to try and find a new suitable route - not too many hills - failed! So will be sticking to the circular one I’ve been on since w6.3

I live in a hilly area and know I’m going to have to face them sometime, but have that in mind for somewhere around week 12 😂
