Week 4: Sunday morning: two men (looked in their 50’s) passed me on their bikes and one said to the other ‘she’d get there faster walking’ and the other one said she’d be faster going backwards’. People are very rude! It could have put some people off but I fortunately have a thick skin and therefore carried on at my slothlike pace! It may have done me a favour as I’ve tried a bit harder to run faster since then. However, I still feel that people should mind their own business if they don’t have anything nice to say!
Some people are rude!: Week 4: Sunday morning... - Couch to 5K
Some people are rude!
twerps....what'da they know! Well done for ignoring them, and keep going at your comfortable pace no need to speed up now!
Morons!
Hopefully they got a puncture 10 miles from home and had to walk all the way back with their bikes !! 🤣
Hopefully karma will give them flat tyres as you run past them - gits. 🏃♀️
I agree, I’m 65 Years of age so glad to be out exercising! They both turned their heads to laugh as they cycled past too! Small minds 😐. Come on karma!!!
Good on you for having thick skin and running for yourself . I doubt these gentlemen have even attempted to run recently.
Some people are just so rude. At least you are getting out there and running.
Why can't people just be nice. Idiots. I make it a point to say "good morning" and smile to others I may see running, cyling, walking, whatever as it can make all the difference! One of the reasons I run early and have headphones in - if someone said anything to me I probably wouldnt be able to keep from saying something back.
Some people just can’t help themselves ! I feel sorry for them that the only way they can make themselves feel good is to try and put someone else down or make fun of someone. What low self esteem they must have
I agree, I have really thin legs, I don’t need to be reminded of it every time I go out running 😉
Says more about them then it ever could about you. Well done on rising above it.
That’s appalling! Whatever happened to the idea of respect, support, encouragement, friendliness, and plain old good manners?
They should be ashamed of themselves.
I wholeheartedly endorse all other replies to your post, especially that from Sky-Runner.
Keep running, we’re all one big, supportive family on this forum, and we’re right with you!
Sad insecure little nobody’s, you’re doing brilliant and we’re all behind you on here, you’ve used their childish negativity to drive you harder and make you go faster, so you’ve turned their negative into a positive....well done you and don’t let anybody put you off 👍
I’ve just written a post on a similar subject, it’s not nice at all xx
I'll bet they don't walk, never mind go for a run . . .
People that have to mock other to make themselves feel better are so sad and pathetic and it says far more about them than you, keep up the good work 😊
I’ve just got back in to cycling during lockdown and have noticed that the ‘male cyclists’ of a certain age take themselves a tad too seriously!
I apologise straight away for the sexist comment BUT I try to smile and shout hello but often get completely ignored. The upshot is I’m pleased you ignored the unkind comments and I totally agree with the comments above ‘ let’s just all be nicer to each other ‘ 😃
