I ran this yesterday but only just got a chance to write. This run was actually really good, I wasn’t feeling very motivated to get out there but knowing it was only 3 bursts really helped me. I completed the whole thing, except for slowing down slightly on the last 5 minutes (30 seconds before the 4 min timer goes).
Whilst I wish I could’ve run the whole thing, my body just stopped. I am going to try and do Week 2 instead of repeating this one, see if moving on to longer periods with less stopping helps? I’m excited to try and finish the 8 minutes. Let’s see how we go - also, music has been playing a huge role at setting my pace so take a close look at your playlists!
I also got quite sad today because I bought a pair of size 8 running shorts to wear and they didn’t fit right when i came home. I know this sounds probably ridiculous but I’ve always been a size 8, so to realise my eating and lifestyle prior to picking this up has pushed me up a size really hit me. I am going to go get a size 10 tomorrow, but my goal is going to continue to be loosing some weight. I’m kind of close to the NHS BMI scale for overweight (a 24.7) so I’d like to get into the healthy range on the chart.
Slightly edging the overweight BMI is what inspired me to first start this journey so I guess I’m just adjusting to this being a longer process. Loosing weight is hard and learning how to run is hard so giving myself some leeway to achieve both well. This is about setting up a healthy, lifelong lifestyle so better to get there slowly than not at all.
