With the weather forecast showing temperatures of up to 31C next week (hurrah for some, especially people like me), some may struggle a little bit. Soo, don't get caught, plan and prepare. If hot is not your thing, don’t run. If you do then hydrate well, take at least 3 litres of water every day (half liquid, half through food), run before the sun kicks in properly (try very early in the morning), get those electrolyte drinks ready, avoid long runs, run slower, cover your face, use sun protection, DO NOT RUN between 11am and 5pm whatever you do (give or take but that's where the sun is at its strongest), and DO NOT COMPLAIN about the heat. Just don’t. Simply do not. Nothing worse than reading complaints about Mother Nature and its games! Have fun instead, my god we all need it.
For those keen to get more info about running in hot weather, here's link to my blog with whole lotta useful tips:
Great advice from you mrrun, the 31C/88F temperatures are forecast to be in the Midlands, East and South East England on Wednesday, other areas are not just to be as hot and Scotland, part of Wales and Ireland will be around 20C/70F.
Well it would depend on how far your bus journey was, if it was less than 5K you could have ran, this morning I was given a mask FREE when I asked the lady in the chemist "Do you sell face masks? " she went to the back of the shop and gave me one as I say, free of charge, I have not tried it on yet, I will only do that if it's made compulsory when shopping, I don't intend to travel any distance by bus or train at the moment.
