I’ve been doing the couch to 5k and I’m now on week 5! My knees started to become really painful when I ran a few weeks ago which now don’t seem to be a problem... however my upper thighs are killing me! I warm up and stretch before I do my run but my thighs ache like a ache I’ve never had before. It’s not the same ache I used to get when I go to the gym and lift weights. It’s almost like a throbbing? Anyone else experience this? I’m worried it will get worse and put me off running!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Make sure that your pre run stretches are dynamic and post run static, as linked to in the guide.........they are not the same thing.
Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.
Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.
Enjoy your journey.
