Remind me not to change my route again!

Went out between thunderstorms, 3/4 way round I came across 2 drains that had blown their covers, I had to run through slightly smelly ankle deep floods - I’ll leave it at that, except to say my trainers are now in the wash - fingers crossed they are ok!

Also has to stop twice on a dead narrow road, known locally as ‘mile lane’ (pictured) for a tractor and a car to go by - I’m not counting that as a fail! Hard to get back into pace though. Got the right pace this time though so didn’t burn out.

Also noticed on the longer runs I tend to struggle a bit for the first 5ish minutes, then all settles down until the last 5 when I’m flagging. Anyone else have that happen?

Good run for you today Reggit apart from the 2 drains, good photo, I can see those thunder clouds in the distance, warm humid weather isn't ideal weather for running, get out early to avoid the heat although you still can't avoid the high humidity.

Early was my intention, however the missus didn’t get up so I was on child duty.

Got to get it squeezed in during the work day (lunch break) if I miss the mornings unfortunately.

Same here. Takes me a while to get in the groove, then hit a sweet spot for a good while and then wanting the time to be over at the end! 😂

That’s exactly the same for me. Pace confirms it too. I am looking forward to the alleged second wind.
