Wk9 R2....this is the first time for quite a while that I had that annoying little bit of doubt at 20mins in saying 'you can't do this today'. Unfortunately it just so happened to coincide with my least favourite hill on my route. It very nearly won! I skipped to a better song, slowed down and luckily kept going. It didn't last for long but I did find the whole run harder and I can't think of any reason for it other than perhaps being a little tired. Anyway, I finished and still managed 5.36km. So, in the end the buzz was back and I cannot wait for my last run on Thursday. It has been quite a journey. I did my first run on 10th January this year, had a few bumps in the road along the way but sooooo happy I will have completed the programme this week. Then onto the next running chapter. I think I really have got the bug : )
Have a fantastic day everyone x

Hi B, you got to give yourself a hug for positive self talk , you did continue and you did pass the 5K.
Here’s a suggestion , have an extra rest day before the final push . Why not ?
You and your body will thank you for the extra time to regenerate the energy your need and at the end your be so excited and even have enough energy for the 5K dance, shouting - YES I’ve done it 🏃♀️
Hi, thank you 😊 The self talk definitely gets easier doesn't it? If that had been a month ago I would probably have given in!
I think an extra rest day is a really good idea 😊 My legs definitely weren't as willing today and want to make sure I can do that dance at the end 🤣 Its going to be amazing to achieve this x
I believe once you have managed the 5 K run successfully and graduated you will start to enjoy running just for the heck of it.
You know you can run 5 K , so remember, you can run 5K.
After graduation I felt I had to run three times my 5K three times a week.
I’m 69 + and then I thought , I really just need to maintain my fitness - 5K.
I now take a minimum of two rest days before I run again , so far have I have found my runs are more enjoyable and, some days I actually run 6K . With energy left over , if I pushed it , I’m sure I could work towards 7K.
I’m not fast , but hay, I’m fit and feeling dam good .
Look after yourself first , and when you are ready , the weather suits , you go and run 🏃♀️your W9R3 with zest , grit and the inner determination you have got 🌟
You will be proud and maybe a little emotional too , as you close this chapter of your success.🍾
Wow, you are very inspiring. I am definitely going to take more rest days inbetween and you're right. It isn't about speed or distance but maintaining fitness and enjoying doing so 😊
Only just found this! Very good luck for a cooler day tomorrow! 😊And if it’s too hot, I agree, just wait so you can enjoy it! 🤸♂️Can’t believe you’re about to finish already! 😄 (Well seems like that to me!). Look forward to reading your victory post, in the not too distant! Go B! 😁🏃♀️🐢
Hi B - You did it - you did not give in, that took grit and determination albeit a struggle but you did it. So Thursday is your graduation day - you will feel ecstatic and possibly a little sad too, its time to say goodbye to the program that has been your companion for a few months, however, once you start consolidation runs - the magic begins. You will be amazed Go Get It - Your Award
