So I guess I’d thought I’d find it easier but I didn’t. I changed my route for the first time as I think I was becoming complacent. Didn’t really think about the change until I was running up sight inclines that I’ve never notice before either walking or driving the same route.
I didn’t do it solo. I still need the little timing markers from Laura. I’m not brave enough to do on my own just yet. Did anyone just re-run week 9 til they were ready to move on? Did anyone change their trainer? Laura’s been my #1 girl from the beginning, does anyone suggest a new trainer to give me the next push I need?
I’m still only just reaching over 4k and I’m fine with that at the moment. I’ve been running for 10 weeks now and I’m 4k in front of where I was 10 weeks ago.
I’ve read the pinned consolidation posts - that was fantastic info. Lots of stuff to get on with.

Hi Katie I’m thinking of doing exactly what you’re doing - when I get there that is, currently week 8 - repeating the runs in week 9. I have Jo as my coach but I did start with Laura for the first few weeks- maybe a change of voice encouraging you in your ear. I also don’t think I’ll be brave enough not to run with my coach’s encouraging words in my ear 👍✅🏃🏼♀️
I think I’ll be lucky to teach 4K by week 9 but I’ll be happy with that then to slowly improve as I get more used to running that length of time - hopefully - just my thoughts - you’re doing great keep on going 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🥳
Well done Katie. My first 2 runs post graduation I used the podcast but the next 2 I went solo. Only changed my route on the most recent one though. I think it's normal to feel nervous about letting go of the crutch once c25k is finished. I'm trying to see it like I have a lifetime of running ahead of me so I'll just take it slow, play around with distance/pace/routes when I'm ready and eventually will figure out how it best works for me. Do whatever you need to do to keep it going. And as you say, you're 4k ahead of where you were 10 weeks ago - great work!
I've started off with C25K but actually found that running on my own terms was much better. Try playing around with routes, distances and what makes you comfortable. Biggest difference for me was losing the headphones - I could focus all my attention on pacing/breathing whilst taking in the scenery. Now, I find someone talking in my ear quite irritating! Also, what helped my motivation to push the distance is having a destination. If I ran there, I had no choice but to run all the way back to get home. Running too close to home or laps made it too easy to stop.
