Is it ok to slow down to a walk while you drink some water during the longer runs? I’m just about to start week 9 but I wonder if I’m cheating as I don’t run non stop ....

On the longer runs I do occasionally slow right down to what is probably a fast walking pace but not an actual walk if that makes sense? It’s still the motion of ‘running’. Maybe you’re going too fast overall, have you tried going a bit slower for the whole run rather than going all out and feeling like you need to pause to walk?

Well done on your progress.

If you are fully hydrated ie a minimum of 2.5-3 litres of fluids each and every day, as recommended in the guide to the plan, then you should feel no need to drink on a forty minute workout. This post may get the message home about hydration healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
