Found i was struggling today. After the triumph of running 20 minutes have found 25 much harder, noticed I have slowed in the middle. This is the 3rd try at 25 minutes - does it get easier?

Thanks for taking time to read this!

You're starting too fast imho, slow it down a bit at the beginning, for maybe 3-5 mins see if that helps.

Thank you, find it hard to judge speed (not on a treadmilk).

Looking at that graph... SLOW down!

Does your tracker have audio updates? I have mine set to one minute updates some days and 0.25 miles on other days... it’s really good to keep your pace in your mind. You’re running around 10 minutes per mile, I do that, sometimes, usually I run 12 minutes per mile, and it’s much much easier.

Not aware of audio updates - I get the 5 minutes, 12 1/2 minutes, etc from the coaching voice & would prefer to hear a bit more often!

I use Nike run club and it’s fully customisable, I’m sure others are too.

That samsung app seems a bit optimistic with running speed, I have the same one. I was barely moving in my 20 minute run but it said I was doing about 6 mph.

But like others have said just keep it steady start slower as well

I’d take the whole run a bit slower Hotitika. You’re not chasing a distance at this stage, just aiming for a specific time. You’ll enjoy it so much more, and yes it will feel easier.

But well done for completing the run nonetheless! 👏👏

Thanks for reply. Not sure if I can count it as a "run"! I follow an out-and-back route, have noticed that I get further each week so know roughly where half way is & don't turn back until then.

I’m willing to bet that if you start off at a pace where your breathing is naturally steady, your split times will remain more consistent and you probably won’t even cover much less distance. Worth a go! 😀
