Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Are you wearing good quality running shoes? There is a link in the guide to a post about shoes.

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve got flat feet so I have custom made orthotics in my trainers. My ASICS trainers are relatively new, so I’ve got all that covered. Before I run I do a 10 min brisk walk, then I stretch my calves and Achilles. I seem to be doing everything that is suggested but I’m still suffering from heel pain. Self diagnosing myself with plantar fasciitis... who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️

Heel pain can be sign that your calves are tight and there's strain on your Achilles tendon. I suggest at the end of each run, some simple calf stretches. YouTube has plenty of videos.

John, you were right my calves were tight. I’ve been using a foam roller and believe it or not my heels aren’t as sore and my calves are feeling better. Thanks for the tip 😃
