Week 6, R2

So I had a five day break from R1 due to terrible pain in my achilles/calves which sometimes is hard to distinguish. It started to kick in pretty much instantly on this run. Sometimes I don’t know if it’s just general pain as I am overweight, or if it’s something worse. It comes and goes between runs.

Anyhow, I completed the run and managed a couple of minutes further. I can tell my fitness has vastly improved as I’m not out of breath, but the body pain is so challenging.

Concerned about how long I wait until I tackle R3 as I usually can’t tell it’s going to hurt until I start. Still glad to be making progress even if it’s so slow.

I think you need to get to the bottom of the issue before you continue, or you could potentially do serious damage. See your GP or physio.

Have you been doing any strengthening exercises or stretches?

Yes I’ve been following lots of advice. I’m waiting on my physio being back in action post covid. It is concerning.
