My body hates me..... and so it should, I've treated it really poorly for the past 15 years.
W2 R1&2 I found were a nice gentle step up from W1. I felt good, I was maintaining my pace during the brisk walks, and I felt like I was doing well. I did R1 on Thursday, and R2 Saturday, followed up by a 6 mile walk in the afternoon.
I had been looking forward to Saturday night all week, as we went to a friends house to have a socially distanced indian takeaway in their garden. The curry was delicious, unfortunately so was the beer. The first drink I'd had for a few weeks, and I over indulged. Whilst able to function on Sunday, I was definitely feeling the effects all day. Ordinarily a hangover prompts a feeding frenzy, crisps, chocolate, huge roast dinner etc. However I managed to get back to the calorie counting and avoided temptation. I've lost 12lb so far, and I need to keep this going in the right direction.
When the alarm rang this morning, I found a number of excuses as to why I couldnt run, slight twinge in the knee, looks like rain, I really need to get working..... finally, two hours after I was supposed to be going, I managed to get my running gear on and head out.
Worst run ever..... I managed the actual running bit, just, but my walking pace wasn't there, the outsides of my lower legs hurt, and I was just a mess, a shadow of my former self.
I've been considering all morning, whether to re run R3, but I've got two rest days, Im going to rehydrate and get back to my pre drinking binge form, ready to hit W3 on Thursday morning.
I'll see you at the finish line (or more likely the bar).
