Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

We recommend that you should be able to walk briskly for thirty minutes on a regular basis before you attempt to run, but if you can do that then there is no reason why you should not do C25k.

Pay special attention to the advice on minimising impact.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi I’m in the same position as you and have just finished Wk5 , ran 20 minutes last night 🎉It is an amazing program and the support on here is fabulous! Trust in the program as everyone will tell you drink plenty every day it really makes a difference, just as important go SLOOOOOOOW 🤪Join the snail club 🐌🐌🐌it’s about finishing and not injuring yourself, speed isn’t important. It may seem hard in the 1st runs but the magic will happen 🤩. I was surprised how many expletives I knew in the 1st week or 2😂😂😂

Just remember think 🐌🐢🐌🐢now get your trainers on and get going 🤪you can do it ! Look forward to your posts 😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hi your welcome 😊 As many will say you have just got the hardest run out of the way 🎉Well done 🙏 Aches and pains are going to be the norm for a few weeks I think 🤔 but as I’m sure you are ,you are going slowly to minimise impact and injury 😖 I’m lucky slow 🐌comes naturally to me 🤣🤣🐢 Drink plenty all the time I feel a real difference! Most importantly look after yourself 🙏 I often have 2 rest days between 🐌jogs 🤪 we don’t have to race to finish the program, just stay injury free and finish whenever we get there 🏃‍♀️🤞

Just remember Go Snails !!!🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌

😊😊😊Keep posting and trying to smile through 😊😊🏃‍♀️

Read my story and previous posts. I started 2 years ago after losing 2 and a half stone. I’m in the last half stone to 6 stone off now (target weight) and I’ve run a marathon.

Hi - I am also very overweight and unfit but even I completed the program. I could not run 5k after 9 weeks but I could jog for 30 mins which was a MASSIVE achievement for me!

Start slow and then slow down some more!
