Time to buy a new watch! Any advice? 😊

My old Charge 2 Fit Bit has succumbed to the flaw of cracked screen. They have offered me 25% of a Charge 3 but not the off the new Charge 4 with GPS.

But, I know many posts here mention Garmin.

I really struggle to see anything on the screen of the FitBit unless I’m inside with my glasses on so as I’m actually exercising it’s pretty useless. I link it to Strava for data.

So, I wondered before I start looking, if anyone had any feedback, please? It makes a big difference to hear people’s experiences 🌸😊🌸

I couldnt tell you about fitbit but i do have a garmin vivoactive 4s. Love it! I cant read a thing without glasses but the numbers are big enough that i can clearly see the time and i can just about make out the numbers on the other two screens. I can put music and podcasts on it so don't need to run with my phone any more. It pushes out run data to strava as well.

Thank you! It’s good to have your feedback 😊

I use the Tom Tom Spark 3 watch - i bought it because I [did] do quite a bit of swimming, and it's excellent for recording laps and so forth. But since Lockdown I started C25K [finished today] and it works well, recording the runs, distance and [very slow] pace on a simple to use app.

I used to have a Fitbit but found the Tom Tom was better for my purposes than anything else.

Hi, my Fitbit Charge 2 also succumbed to a cracked screen😕 I’ve now got a Garmin Forerunner 30. It’s a bit basic compared to some other products out there but it’s adequate for my needs🙂 It’s great that it syncs to Strava too so I can start and finish Strava just by tapping the watch. Much more convenient than faffing around with my phone! Hope that’s some help.

Thank you, yes! I don’t want to be tempted to buy “a hammer to crack a nut” if you see what I mean!!

I think I need a list of what I need from my watch. Starting with being able to see the screen 😂

I bought my Garmin Forerunner 45s a few weeks ago and I love it!

The Garmin app that goes with it is great, the GPS is really accurate and it links with Strava too, so I can view my new Garmin runs alongside all my previous ones. I thought I would just wear it for running but wear it all the time. Highly recommend it.

Thank you, it is great to have real recommendations. I’ve worn my FitBit for four years. I thought it would be a fad. But I just can’t see the screen.

I know whatever I buy, like you, I’ll wear it all the time; it’s a big deal. 🌸😊🌸

Seeing the screen was an issue for me with my FitBit so a a clear display screen was crucial for me when decding what to buy. The 45s' screen is slightly smaller than the normal 45 version, but it it isn't compromised in any way and once you have the hang of which buttons do what, it's easy to navigate too.

I have a Fitbit Versa Lite does everything I want however I have my phone with me as it links and uses the gps. I had a surge but the screen swipe didn’t work and was 3 years old, contacted Fitbit and they gave me 25% off all models or 40% off a versa lite in blue. It does what I need.

Yes. I’ve had good customer service from them. If I knew I could see the screen I probably wouldn’t change. 🙂

Apple Watch has a great screen but if you’re after a sports watch, definitely go for Garmin. I’ve got two Apple watches and two Garmin (FR235 & Fenix6X) and I haven’t worn either Apple Watch for 8 months now. I’d opt for a second hand FR235/245 if you don’t want to part with too much money.

Thank you 😊
