Week 5, Run 1: Demon Conquered :)

Started really apprehensive this morning as I set off on this run, not feeling I had anywhere near conquered Week 4’s 5-minute segments.

So how did that happen? I just ran. And it worked! And no at all bad 🤔

Things I changed: I drank much more (water) the day before; wore much cooler clothing (dated shorts in my middle age 😱), didn’t look ahead to the run and cut out any music/sound as I’ve realised it de-focuses me and puts me off natural stride/rhythm. I know that’s a very personal thing, but suddenly found myself absorbed in nature and even managed a hello to by-passers.

Under no illusion things will get tougher, but that was a pleasant surprise amidst the hard effort 😊

That’s fantastic- really well done 👏😊. I’ve got week 5 run 2 next - hopefully I will conquer this tomorrow morning early before it’s too hot 🥵 I do think drinking more water helps loads - I’m trying to hydrate more on non run days as well - I do find it hard but working on it. We’ve got this 🤞🏃🏼‍♀️
