I did it! Finally achieved week 5 run 1 (3x 5 min runs) in the teeming rain, and feel ready to move on up !
This was a HUGE hurdle for me as its the run in which I tore a calf muscle three months ago, resulting in nine weeks on the injury couch then gently going back to the very start of the programme again. My right leg is still "heavier" and tighter than the other but I am taking care and not over doing it. Hence why I have just had three goes at this run over the last week, and have found by slowing down especially in the first of the three runs I can now do it.. And feel ready for the next challenge!
Teeming rain and very windy today so was well wrapped up with long trousers instead of cropped and my running jacket on, but who cares really how wet you get when you can conquer this run with no yelling at Laura to let you stop !
