I graduated - now what?

Yesterday I finished week 9 run 3. I went a bit longer just to prove I could do a 5k.

What now? Is there somewhere on here I can join for graduates?

I’ve heard people use the word consolidation but have no idea what is meant in running terms.

Thanks all and keep going - it works!

Congratulations on your graduation!

For your consolidation, just aim to run for 30 minutes 3 times a week, until it becomes a comfortable thing to do. You need to maintain the routine and get some miles into your kegs while you decide what you want to do next, for instance increase your speed, or your distance or stay as you are.

Pop across to the B210K forum where you will see all sorts of options, and do look at the pinned post What Next for some further guidance

There is a C2 10K programme out there if you want to try up your distance, it's quite a big jump so I'd say keep running 30 mins for a few weeks before trying it. Or you can stick at this distance, running 30 minutes a few times a week is a wonderful thing to do for your health and well being. You'll start to see some speed improvements if you do it for a while and it can be nice to work on a 5k PB if youre goal orientated. The level of fitness you've built up is really useful if you want to start doing any other kind of fitness and sport too if there's anything you've ever fancied giving a go 🙂 I love playing netball and find it really helpful to keep me motivated to exercise as people at training or my team would be let down if I didn't go, so I always turn up! I also really love playing team sports and hadn't realised I'd missed it so much since school. If that's something you're interested in then there are back to netball groups set up all over the country which are welcoming and you don't need any knowledge or experience.

Congratulations on your achievement!

Congratulations K69 on your achievement , wow you’re amazing and there’s more surprises to come .

I’m in week 6 graduation and just joined consolidation . My intent is to run in local Parkruns when they resume .

I’m 69+ and continue with my three runs a week, as in W9.

I have experienced a few surprises whilst out on a run since my Gard week .

Enjoy your progress and your surprises too. 🏃‍♀️

Hi Kirsty - first of all go get ur badge - you've earned it. You need to post in the May graduates pinned post. Then there is a Consolidation Club. Go read the info on there about next steps and post your thoughts to get some feedback. You can read through suggestions for/from others tgere too.

Well done for finishing!! 🥳🥇🎊🎈🎉
