Well I’m at wk4r1 today and I completed the run no problem and then I thought to myself how much do I have left in the tank so I kept going and I kept going and before I knew it I was still running after 10 mins and I ran a 4.9 miles. Well I thought to myself I definitely have more in the tank and I surprised myself. Bit naughty as every bit of advise says stick with the programme but I’ve just kept running. My calves are a bit sore now but I’m foam rolled them so I think I might try a 5k again on Tuesday. Or should I stop?

Eeeerrmmmm I think deep down you know the correct answer to that one 🙃...... not worth the risk really 🤕

It's great that you're so determined, but I've read a few posts on here where folk have thought I'll go faster, or go further, or run every day and it doesn't pay off really, increased risk of injury...... no thanks..... I'm sticking with the proven C25K rules 👍

The problem is that our bodies are capable of doing more than we should... more than is good for them... the plan is structured to get you to not only 30 minutes or 5k, but to regularly running 3 times a week. Doing too much too soon usually means that a new runner becomes incapable of running for a couple or more months and is then back to square one. Is it worth the risk? I don’t think so... it’s your call of course.
