I finished week one earlier this evening. I felt okay about getting up and out but when I got there I really didn’t enjoy it. I pushed through so I’m feeling pleased I did this, however still a bit low that I didn’t enjoy it.
I think it may be due to me going to a woodland area with unbalanced ground and inclines and declines.
I’m still glad I tried three different locations out because it’s made me realise what works for me at this stage. I think personally a track style works as it helps keep me focussed. I may work out routes and times in future.
I have a feeling once my weight drops and I get fitter, this may become easier.
Could anyone let me know what’s the change moving into week 2 please?
Thankyou and hope you are all okay. X

Week 2 is much the same as week 1, you should not really notice much difference as each run prepares us for the next. You are right about the weight, I have lost 22 pounds in just over 6 months and am a lot stronger than I used to be, the strength bit takes time but will come naturally, the weight loss is not that apparent as you change fat for muscle. If you have a fair bit to lose then I really recommend taking all of your measurements every couple of weeks and keeping a diary. You will see these dropping quite quickly compared to weight
At the time my biggest challenge was week 4 but when I got to week 9 you realise that all weeks are just transitions to build your strength for greater challenges. I'd say trust the programme and keep going as you'll amaze yourself what you can do. I'd stick to a flatter more even runs as you have less to worry about but its personal choice. Good luck with week 2 and beyond
You are right that each run is an opportunity to learn something about yourself. Not all runs are enjoyable at the time, but I am always glad I went. Part of the joy is the sense of achievement afterwards as well as seeing the changes in your body as your stamina and strength improve. If you are wanting to lose weight, I would recommend taking your measurements to see how things change with running. Good luck with 2.1
I can understand why the Week 1 session may have left you feeling that the track is the place to be. You may find that feeling changes as time goes on and you drop your pace to the one you are going to sustain for a full 30 minutes (speaking personally I love a bit of varied terrain which is interesting underfoot, both mentally and a lot less hard on my body)
I am planning to do my graduation run later today, redoing C25K 8 years after the first time and having not stopped running in that time. Week 1 is still a tough one for me!
