Hi everyone! New to this platform. So today I’m going to conquer W4R3. But I’m slow. I know Laura says it’s a jog but should I be trying to run. I’m overweight which is the main reason I started C25K. Is it ok just to jog? When I graduate will I be running or still jogging. Thank you xx

The slower the better! Better to slow jog and complete it than run and tire too soon. You can always increase your speed if you want to when you’re further along. Do what is right for you x ps slow jogging is lower impact so better for your knees 👍🏻

I meant to say I began this barely being able to ‘run’ the 60 seconds in week 1. (51 and unfit) after speeding up the warm up walk and slowing down the jog I have now reached week 7. This plan is amazing. Good luck x

Well done for getting this far, it's an amazing journey, isn't it? Like you, I jog along slowly but surely. That's what we're supposed to do on this programme. We're building up our stamina with every run and it's exhilarating.

Running will come later I think. Once we've achieved the 30 minute jogs and can do them comfortably, we can build up gradually to a run.

Doing Week 5 Run 3 tomorrow. Very excited. Wish me luck!

Heartening words!

You are aiming to move forwards in a running motion - both feet off the ground during your stride. If you're doing that, you're running, no matter how slowly. Speed is overrated and the quickest way to get injured. Don't even think about it You are running already!

Good luck 👍

It’s fine to jog I’m overweight so lot to shift mustn’t strain the heart I’m told it improves when you start losing some weight also takes pressure off the knees

Jogging/running, are just words. You are running! There is no difference as the technique and what your body is doing are the same. Just keep it slow and you'll be fine. When you finish the programme you may gradually build your speed, but for now, slow is good.
