Did the same run on Sunday. I just ran as slowly as possible (look up Japanese slow jogger YouTube). My brisk walk is literally faster than my run but it works! One day I dream of being a gazelle but in the meantime I’ll happily continue to be a 🐢! 😁 You can do this! Good luck. 👍
I really struggled with this transition - so much so that I gave up twice before with couch to 5km, both times at week 4. Third time round and I'm finally on week 8, so my advice is to stick with it. I found after the toughness of wk 4 that wk 5 got easier again and was amazed by how the length of running time then builds up. I learnt to definitely trust the programme in that respect. And when you do your first 20 minute run you will feel amazing (maybe not physically, but emotionally!). The advice and tips on here about stretching before and after, staying well hydrated everyday and even massaging weary limbs all helps too. Good luck with it all, you can do it!
That’s great, you did it! Well done. I did that run yesterday and it was hard, yup. But you feel great that you did it, you just ran 16 minutes!! Onwards and upwards. I think the key is run slowly and just keep those positive thoughts flowing. I am beginning to realise that this fitness is a lot about mental strength as opposed to physical. You’ve got this! 💪🏻🌈
Keep going, by R3 you’ll wonder what the fuss was about! I’m only three runs ahead of you!
