Not too sure if to risk it today it's not so bad but I don't want it to keep happening as I worry about it I don't want to be injured etc. Not sure if should be stretching before or is it just after when u are already warmed up.. I think my calf is still bit tight as wasn't sure if needed to stretch before and after or just after not sure new to running

For the purposes of C25K a 5 minute brisk walk should suffice... any stretches before the run need to be dynamic ones (no holding a stretch for x seconds). Opinions are divided amongst running coaches as to wether they give any advantage, but there’s agreement that they do no harm, so why not?
After the run is the time for static stretches while the muscles are still warm, which they will be for quite some time. I have yet to meet or read from any coach who doesn’t think post run stretches are a good thing!

Not sure what you’re referring to with risking it today and it not being so bad... if it’s an injury, rest it some more, taking a risk really isn’t worth it... you may “lose” a couple of days, or even a couple of weeks... but a torn calf muscle will set you back months.
