Back to Couch to 4k, Week 1 done.

Good afternoon fellow runners.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I am back on the programme having lost pretty much all of the fitness I built up over 2 years culminating in a couple of half marathons last year.

But since last September absolutely nothing, so here I am back again to share my experiences and if needed, offer a bit of advice to anyone having doubts.

Week 1 is done, I didn't do rest days as, hopefully my legs still have a small amount of fitness but I would definitely encourage anyone doing the programme for the first time to absolutely stick with the important rest days.

Having said that, I actually have found even Week 1 quite hard, a sign of how easy it is to lose fitness and how important it will be to keep running regularly after you finish Week 9.

Anyhow, as I said, Week 1 is done. Tomorrow seems like almost a return to winter so I'll have a rest and stay warm indoors as if we haven't all had enough of that in these strange times.

See you all next week, but in the meantime if anyone has any questions about the coming weeks don't hesitate to drop me a message.

Run happy, run safe.

Hi there! I'm reassured to read this post - I too have not run in the last 7 months having Graduated C25K 2 years ago . I am back at the starting line W1R2 due tomorrow 👊🦋 happy running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Pleased to hear that, personally I will never find even short runs easy because of my asthma but at least this time round we know we can do it.
