Are there any Garmin pros out there?

I don't know which Garmin to buy 245 or 645 music?

I want to invest in a decent piece of equipment, I have found both for roughly the same price, however which watch is the better model? They seem very similar so is it just down to looks and battery life?

Any one owned both or one of the models and have a valuable recommendations/insights that they think I should consider?

Thanks

I liked this article on the new Garmin range runningshoesguru.com/2019/0... and that was with a $100 (probably £100) price difference between the two models.

One consideration is do you need the music? Eats battery and if you’re going to have your phone with you you won’t need it.

I’ve got the 645 music. I got it for a great price in Argos: £200.

I love being able to listen to music and not carry a phone, especially on short runs and parkrun. but if I was going on a long run of 10 miles or more, I’d probably take a phone anyway for safety and also I can listen to the radio then.

Never used the 245 sorry.

Not a Garmin pro by any stretch, but I have the 645 (without music) having had a 235 previously. The link posted by UnfitNoMore about is spot on about the differences. Either gives you most of the latest stuff you get with the 45 series, only difference with the 645 is altimeter (captures floors climbed and elevation in your runs) and looks really.

Whichever you choose you’ll be buying and great bit of kit. I love my 645, it looks good and has more stats than I’ll ever need.
