WK 2 R1-Groin ache.

So on my last run last week I felt a bit of an ache in the groin (right side), think I may have done it going off a curb to avoid a cable across the path. When stretching after it was a little painful. So I took an extra couple of days to rest and went out again today. I went really slowly and it didn't hurt whilst running but did a bit when stretching again. Any advice, I don't want to give up but don't want to injure myself further either.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Do not run in pain and follow the PRICE principles to recover.

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks, read this before I started and it was very helpful. Have been doing the stretches after and this is when the muscle seems to pull. Loving the running (very slowly) but think I might just need to rest a it a bit longer. Frustrating as like I said I'm enjoying the running.
