Flipping Ligaments!

Feeling a little frustrated and low. Started the Couch to 5k programme 4 weeks ago. On my third run week one, did something in and around my knee. Had lots of helpful advice from this site, I've taken it all on board, magnesium oil, ice, turmeric, glucosame. Still in pain simply walking last week, I booked an online physio appointment. Of course, it's speculative as I can't be seen in person but we think it might be ligament damage on the inside front of my knee. More rest, more ice, daily exercises.......be prepared for 6 weeks before things improve, be patient, don't push it....Easier said than done, my daily outside exercise is a lifeline in the Lockdown. Sorry, mini-moan as I live alone and am feeling more than a bit cooped up. But I know it will end. On a positive note, tomorrow is national Dawn Chorus Day. Enthusiasts are being encouraged to set the alarm for 4.30am and simply sit near your window or an outside space to listen to the birds begin their day. Enjoy!

My advice is to try biking if you can and to follow physio exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee. I have been where you are and it is hard to know what to do for the best but the pain will ease and you will get back to running if you want to. Also a pain relieving muscle gel helped me and wearing compression leggings 🙂
