Should my face be a deep red when I’m finished?

Run 1 of week 6, I caught sight of my face in the mirror on my return and realised why my neighbour had given me a strange look! My face was a deep red colour. Not Rosie from exercise, but almost purple! Is this normal?

It depends how you are feeling. Are you too hot? Ran faster than should have done? Did you hydrate properly? Had a big meal the night before? Ran in the sun? Does it happen often?

For example, I'm as pale as they come, almost going white, don't know if that's normal but I feel quite alright.

I'm not sure what normal for you should be, but I'd judge your exertion from your breathing rather than your face. Can you run and still speak? If you're gasping for breath, you're overdoing it for sure.

As others have said it depends how you feel. I go bright red, with white around mouth and eyes - very attractive! To other people I probably look like I’m about to collapse but it’s just me. I’m fine and it’s just me reaction to exercise. Some people just go redder than others. Always amazes me when I see people run and they don’t change colour or even seem to break in to a sweat!

I am a fellow tomato 🍅 I thought this might get less when I got fitter but I’m still the same. Just the way I am and always have been.

As others say, what is normal for you.

Have you ever seen your face before after strenuous exercise?

Thanks for the replies- my face does go red when I do other exercise, but I don’t think I’ve ever gone ‘purple’!
