Congratulations on completing run 1 of week 5, keep ridgidly to the program, don't run too fast, drink plenty of water the day before you run and just before you run, that is to avoid dehydration, onwards and upwards to runs 2 and 3 of week 5.

Well done on your progress.

The longer runs create some mental challenges which are best tackled, in my opinion, by diverting the brain away from thinking about the physicality of running and thinking about time.

I used to give myself a running commentary of everything I could see, smell, hear and feel in fully formed florid sentences that took me out of myself and into my environment.

Some people swear by comedy podcasts or plays, again distracting the brain and entertaining you to boot.

You may need to adjust your rest day regime as the runs get longer......they will take more out of you and recovery may well need to be longer too.

Keep at it and don't push too hard........finishing the run is your aim........speed comes later.

Well done, you’re half a run away from being halfway through the programme!

Be prepared to slow down. The next few runs are noticeably longer than what you’ve done so far, and although you can manage them (the programme is well designed!) you might find that the pace you sustained today isn’t the right pace for your longer runs.

Enjoy the rest of your week 😀

Well done for getting to this week, it’s a great programme, the longer the run time the slower you go and you will find a really gentle pace to keep you going then one day you will realise your slow comfortable run is faster than your early runs

Well done. I completed week 5, run 3 today and my advice is to just keep your pace nice and slow. My own mantra today was that I may be slow, but time keeps moving at the same speed and will tick away; just keep moving - you’re faster than everyone sat on their sofa!
