Hi! I’m a short ‘bigger boned’ lady and I finished the programme this week.
My advice is to take it really slow, get some good trainers and don’t let your weight hold you back! Good luck
Hi I’m 53 and I would advise just run slowly. I think I run slower than I walk lol. Just take your time. Doesn’t really matter how far you go more about keeping to the times. You have made the first step now go on give it a go you can do this.
I’m female and quite a bit older but have always been told I have ‘big bones’, though I’m not sure it’s really a ‘thing’! But don’t let it stop you! Take it slow, then slow down- yes you can always go slower. Stay well hydrated and read Iannoda Truffe’s pinned post for newbies on this page. You could also take a look at the YouTube clip on Japanese Slow Running. Keep posting to let us know how you get on as well! Good luck!
Hi - I'm 54 and, when I started, weighed 135.5kg. Completed c25k in December (lost 5kg) had a 3 month layoff and then started again. Have been running for 5 weeks - starting at 18 mins and adding approx 10% each week. Small steps, slow jogs, good shoes and perseverance has got me up to 34mins and dropping another 5kg.
Welcome to the forum.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You need to pay particular attention to the advice on minimising impact.......when you run you can put stresses through your legs equivalent to seven times your body weight......
Good shoes make a huge difference.
Enjoy your journey.
