So...I did the final run in week 4, on the 8th, which is last Wednesday. Spent Thursday psyching myself up for the big week 5 first run on Friday. But had to take to my bed with I don't know what - maybe Covid 19, maybe something else. On Friday morning, I felt that heavy feeling you get with flu, where your body just wants to stop, and so I went for nap, and then developed the most awful headache - worse than the few migraines I've had - which hasn't completely gone even now, but it much, much better. A vice round your eyes and temples, with added spikes and occasional hot explosions that make your whole body flinch. Not good. Accompanied by sore throat & diarrhoea, crazy muscle aches, fever nearly 40 degC. No idea how I got it, given that I've been avoiding people like the plague. My only thought is that I didn't wipe down all of the food deliveries - packets, for example. I washed the apples & peppers in soap & water (and rinsed them!) but not the tins etc. So perhaps stupid. But if it is (was, I hope) Cov 19 then I'm definitely a reminder that you can't be too careful. And still cautious about being overly-optimistic, given what I've read about feeling better before getting worse. Not sure what my legs are going to be like when I finally get back into my trainers - or how long that will take. Bother. I was romping through it.
Week 4_3: So...I did the final run in week 4, on... - Couch to 5K
Week 4_3
Oh no! I hope that you make a full recovery soon x
Week 5 can wait.... Just take time to get over whatever you may have. You are obviously determined from your intro and by getting to week 5😂😂. Wishing you a hasty recovery. Your trainers won't have even cooled down. 🏃
Take care and get well soon
Getting better is the main priority. Week 5 will still be there when you are ready for it... 😁🏃♀️
Here’s hoping you will be fully better very soon.. but do take it gently for a while to make sure you are fully recovered.. better to start again than risk a recurrence before it’s fully out of your system.. we think my daughter had it.. young, fit, 25, but she was tired out for weeks..
Look after yourself..🤗
Thanks for all your good wishes - it means a huge amount. I'm definitely on the mend but under strict orders from my nurse - sorry, my partner - to take it easy. So I will...but hoping that as Atco says, my trainers won't have cooled down yet.
