I'm so happy! I started last year and got up to Week 7, then had a holiday and it tapered off. I started again on 1 March 2020 at Week 5, and to my amazement it wasn't too horrendous! In week 9 I've been running 30 minutes, but that was around 4.5 km. So for my final run I used Plotaroute.com to plan a 5k route, and completed it in 32 minutes. I had to steel myself to not stop when Jo started to congratulate me after 30 mins, and the extra 2 minutes were interminable, but I'm so pleased with myself.
To those of you on the journey, keep at it. I've lost weight, am fitter, and can actually plod along quite pleasurably, although it's still tough at times. Tough, but good!
So, the picture is what a 54 year old, slightly knackered, very smug, er, 'runner' looks like!
