So at the age of 27 I have decided to start running. I was into sport when younger but carefully picked positions that avoided much long-term running (goalie in football and spin bowler/batsman in cricket). I've always been good with walking however and love golf, but now that's out of the window due to Covid.

To be honest, I am extremely fortunate to not be overweight due to a terrible diet and lack of any exercise in god knows how long. However, recently I've felt more sluggish, lazy and developing a slight beer belly, so I decided to look towards Couch to 5K. Here's how it's gone after 2 days:

Day 1: Oh my lord, that was far harder than I thought it would be. I'm fortunate to live near Gunnersbury Park so I have a running route laid out for me but by the end of it I was hot, sweaty and felt awful!!! Importantly though, I got through it without stopping once or even the desire to stop, which I was very proud of. I also had an itch to get back out there as soon as possible.

Day 2 (today): Took a days rest due to aching legs. When I woke up today however I was in more pain than the day before! After researching online I did some stretches, hydrated myself to the max and got running. You know what? It was so much easier. I felt far more in control and while by the last run I was starting to feel it I felt amazing by the end of it.

So two days into Week One and I've loved it so far. I'm hoping by the end of this to feel more fit, healthy and happy. Let's go!
