My first time: Hi just started today found it... - Couch to 5K
My first time
Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, there have been many people today starting C25K so you have plenty of company, the first time you run is the hardest, just take all the runs slowly, that way you should not feel as tired as your first run.
You can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, good luck for your running journey. 😊 🏃🏾
Read the guide to C25k on here. Keep checking in and run reeaally slowly x
Lots of people have started this programme today, so respond to others and look for support as you need it.
As for needing convincing- just follow the programme, repeat runs if necessary but have faith; loads of people have successfully done this
Hi I’ve just done week 4. I wouldn’t say it’s got easier, it’s still super tough but it has become so much more enjoyable and you feel so much stronger. If i tried to do week 1 now i’m sure i would find it easy, at the time it was so tough !!
Thank you all
Girl if I can do it you can 😆 I’m on week 4 next. Just put one foot in front of the other and Pace yourself x
If you maintained a walking motion (however slowly) in the walk sections and a running motion (however slowly) in the run sections, you are doing brilliantly.
C25K doesn't get 'harder' as such because every session is building on the last one and so very much is about learning to pace yourself.
(As an example, it took me six weeks and many attempts to be able to complete
'Week 1' ... but every other C25K 'Week' was successful without having to do any extras. I've kept running for 8 years, recently decided to redo the programme - that Week 1 is still a toughie!)
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
When you run for thirty minutes in just a few weeks time W1R1 will seem very easy.
Enjoy your journey.
Hi Deb, you need to take it slow, and toast a run or a week if you need to. Make sure you do the 5 minute warm up walk at a reasonable pace to get the blood flowing, and don't miss off the walk at the end either. For back issues, Pilates classes are brilliant for strengthening those muscles, I strongly recommend you do some sort of strengthening exercises on days you aren't running.
Welcome & good luck with your running journey. It’s definitely more difficult in the 1st week. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
