Does it get any easier!?
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
When you run for 30 minutes non stop in a few weeks then W2R2 will seem really easy.
If it is tough, slow down.
Enjoy your journey.
It DEFINITELY gets easier!!! Just don’t give up!!! In a few weeks time you’ll be posting in here how amazed you are and how proud of yourself you are that you’ve run X amount of time without stopping!! Keep going, you’ve got this!!! Xx
The thing is Rhinos 1968 is that you’re actually out there doing it whereas others would’ve given up ! So well done you!
I’ve finished W3 and the 2 bits of advice I found best were
1. Slow down
2. Can you keep a short conversation going ( I talk to myself about what’s around me , it keeps it interesting-flowers coming out, birds singing etc but it gives a check on my pace. If I can’t chat then I’m too fast)
Snails can go faster than me so please don’t give up because this app is designed to help you improve. And you will!
Btw when I last did this app I found I needed to repeat the odd run just to let my fitness develop.
Best of luck, keep going, and well done 👍
Well done for keeping at it! It is supposed to be a bit of a challenge, so it will sometimes feel hard. It does get easier as you build your muscles, but each run is a new challenge, which is good! Take it slow and try to relax. Relaxing your shoulders helps and the more you relax the easier it becomes. Good luck
I was where you are a few weeks ago and yes it does get easier. If you try and think of something else when you are running it helps a lot. Might be a book you’ve read, someone you need to speak to, something you need to do when you get back. Suddenly you’re on the last 60secs! Keep going.
It does get easier as your fitness improves. Try to not think too much about what you're doing, and just go out and enjoy. In a few weeks time you'll look back and be amazed at how far you've come.
I've just graduated today, but kept a log of all my runs to spur me on. Maybe something similar for yourself will help?
My log:
I use it as my peaceful thinking time in the fresh air in this crazy time in our lives. Nice music and its amazing how quickly the time goes. I’m on W3R2 tonight so only a bit ahead of you but it is a really clever programme that pushes but in a manageable way.
