If any run is tough, just slow down.
Enjoy your journey.
Week 4 did feel hard for some reason for me too. It’s ok. It will pass and you are building up your mental endurance!!
I also struggled with week 4! Its actually the week that taught me going slow slow slow really is the answer! I pushed myself through the week 4 runs and ended up injuring my calves, had to take over a week out and on returning I gave the third run another go. I still didn't feel ready to proceed to week 5, so I redid w4 r3 again, but at a seriously slower pace. I'm about to finish week 6 and slowing it down has definitely helped me get this far!
So my advice would be to just slow it down and continue with what you've been doing, you've already come so far! 💪🏻
I am finding it tough I have been going out in the morning but was too hot so today I am going to try early evening
It’s the five minute run getting me.
We will get there
I as others have said am running slowly
We need to keep it up and we will get there
I so hear you. So hard I agree. Yeah me too W4 R1.... the wind against me, sun and a hill in the last run -torturous! I had to walk for some of it. It’s my upper body that feels so heavy -my legs ok interestingly think as I do tons of stretching now before and after. That 5 minutes feels so long doesn’t it? Trying to trust this process. I’m waiting for that half way bell. Happy when it’s over. But can’t say I’m enjoying it- just feels hard. Maybe that will come as we get fitter? Keep us posted how you get on. I too might repeat W3 again. My son told me we ‘re unusually inactive during lockdown - well I am-and that after it as we get our daily activity up it ll maybe feel easier? Maybe that’s why it feels harder? Just a thought. Good luck.
Thanks I am taking a couple of days rest as my lower back has been sore. Not sure if the running is a factor. Will know once I go out again.
I had lower back pain when I started out. Check your running posture - up tall, like you're being pulled up by your ears; bum tucked under and hips rolled slightly forward. On your rest days check out some core body exercises and yoga with Adrienne. It does get better as you get stronger. 👍
