Ouch poor you blisters are very painful, cover it with a plaster, if you can get them blister plasters are really worth using. Was it your first run? don’t give up, just take it very slow, challenge the children to see how slow they can go and still be running, oh and extra socks to stop you getting another blister should help

Stay safe

and no one fails here we don’t use that word, you are awesome for getting out and running

Thank you will try that. Think new trainers might be worth it. And will try the blisters and extra socks. My current ones seem very tight and hard to get on, feel good for going out and trying, xx

I suffered loads of blisters, if your trainers feel tight then just cover the blister with something soft to protect it, a blister though means your foot is moving in your shoe/ sock which rubs it. I hope you do carry on as long as you can it’s such a good thing to do especially with your children

You didn't fail..........we don't use the F word on this forum.

You went out and gave it a go and you should treat it as a learning process.

C25k is all about pacing.

If you are running with others then the slowest has to dictate the pace and they have to be able to speak clear, ungasping sentences as they run, otherwise they are going too fast.

This is all set out in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

So you go slower...............

And even slower

As slowly as you can whilst keeping a running action. Take short steps too!

Fail actually means First Attempt In Learning. Or in my case Fiftieth Attempt In Learning 🤪

No use of the fail word allowed! Plaster and an extra sock will help blister. Please don’t give up. You can do this.

I had a run that just did not work for me, I carried on for the full 30minutes, but more walking than I would have liked, as said before it is not a fail, you still exercised, that still would have benifeted your body and heart, it is good to have a bad experience, makes you realise that you are human and gives the determination to succeed. No athlete has good training sessions, there are plenty with blood sweat and tears. Use it as experience and move on.

Don’t know where you live but my first run was around the garden and the second I was dropped top of a hill and ran downhill home easier than struggling uphill

A big fail would be not going out to run. Once you cross the start line the F word cannot apply to you.

Run one nearly killed me... I came back on here and read posts by several people, including IannodaTruffe who I see has replied above. That guide, some words of wisdom from others and i was ready to go again... it was much better on my run 2, and I’ve never looked back.

Blisters aren’t fun... if it was caused by your shoe slipping a little, there’s lacing techniques that can help to prevent that.

Welcome to the plan... great job getting out there. Don’t worry, you can do this, relax and enjoy your journey.

You didn’t fail, you succeeded because you got out there and ran. Go Sparkyee you got this.

Sounds like next time you need the “who can run the slowest?” competition with your children- now that’s really hard at their age - & of course it’s impossible for you if they have sprinted off. 😄

If they can’t slow down, they’ll have to run to the next lamppost/ car/ gate & then run back to you while you show them how it’s done! 😄

Without sounding completely stupid.. Slow run as in a slightly, more jogged up brisk walk?? X
