End of Wk2: Different route...

Hi intrepid joggers!

Instead of coming out of the farm gate and turning right towards Helston I've decided to turn left! No biggie you say, and so I thought! Set my alarm for 11 minutes and start to jog down the long slow hill towards Falmouth - not bad I think - then the alarm goes and I've got to start the long slow climb home! I wish it was the other way round! I think we are at the highest point above Falmouth and it is a 6 mile descent to the town. Well at least I've got the weekend exercises: dodging biscuits, avoiding puddings and generally trying to watch what I eat!

Sounds busy glad you are getting out to run

Basically, and with all things being equal, I should be jogging for 60 minutes straight by the end of lock down 5-6km!

Sounds like a wonderful place to be running... and a 6 mile descent sounds just perfect for setting quick times 🤣

Along some narrow roads though at the top end and busy ones at the bottom end!

Ah... we need to get them roads closed for you I think.

It would also bugger me completely on the way back!

I suppose I could aim at running/walking all the way down and then get a bus home!

Works for me!!! I’ve been looking at something similar here from up on the snake pass I’d have a great downhill for a few miles... only problem with my planning is I’d prefer a refreshing post run drink at the pub at the top, than in town at the bottom.

Oh well, even running downhill all the way is a long way in the future for me (if ever!), 7 miles/11.2km would take me around 2hours at the moment!

Probably me too at the moment... still on the comeback trail from my enforced break over the winter. I do like to think ahead though! Anything you think about doing is achievable in time, and it’s fun to tick them off when you get there. I was looking at Glossop to Castleton the other day, not much further than I’ve done in the last year... but a lot of uphill, so a definite challenge for me.

Cornwall is a wonderful place to run, so many hills though! I’ve just done my first week and tying to find fairy flat routes to give myself a chance!
