I did it. I took your advice and finally swallowed my nerves and went to a local country park to do week 7 run 1. Nobody laughed at me and I even had confidence to sit on my own and have a drink by lake afterwards. Plus it was flat!!!! No ridiculously long hills!

I'm still putting a parkrun off... At week 4 I was doing about 3.5k including warm up and warm down. 5k still seems so far off! My target date for park run is the first one in September - it's like another chance at new years resolutions to me, back from school days.
