Well thatβs week 8 complete, with todayβs run almost a carbon copy of run 2 and both of them better than the first.
The next run is my Nemesis Run. π
W9r1 was as far as I got last time doing C25k last summer. The evening after I completed that run the niggling foot injury that I had carried, rested, cajoled and nursed along for the past few runs gave out completely. Diagnosed as extensor tendonitis, I was told that it could take weeks to months to heal. Sadly it was the latter, and I resigned myself to the fact that my original β5k by 50β goal had slipped away from me.
Fast forward to this January. With my 50th birthday been and gone, I tweaked my goal to β5k at 50β and made C25k my New Year resolution. Along with Dry January, which I completed π, I am now Dry for Lent too. I have to admit that my love for dark chocolate π« has not been compromised - you have to leave yourself some indulgences!
This running malarkey is wonderful......
π It has seen me beat the usual winter blues and kept me feeling up beat and joyous at times when I might otherwise have gone into the doldrums.
π It has put me in touch with so many wonderful and supportive people on this forum (admins, mentors, graduates and nearly-there-newbies), who I am proud to call my network of VRBs. Your comments, support and banter are priceless, thank you ππ».
π I feel stronger, both physically and mentally and I donβt want to let this feeling go, ever.
π I am a runner πββοΈ! Me, the one who always said βOh, I donβt do running.β Now converted π.
Gosh, this has turned into a bit of a ramble! I only meant to do a quick post!
So, where was I?
Oh yes. Nemesis Run next.
Week 9 - I am so coming to get you! Again!!
