Treading water so to speak!

Injuries, illness and arthritis have been preventing me running 5km over the last few months, aided and abetted by the weather. I have now joined a gym and hope to be able to do some strength exercises as well as some cross training. It is 2.2 miles away according to Strava, so I run there, do my exercises and have a swim to stretch out. I get the bus most of the way back! My problem is I just can’t face adding in a run round a park I pass to increase the distance of my run to reach the 5k. I thought if I posted here I might motivate myself to cross that hurdle!

I was running the 5k at parkruns pre illness, now the weather has made the course so muddy I just can’t face it (it has actually been cancelled a couple of times as it’s been so bad).

On the plus side the new trainers I got last year, Brooks adrenaline, fit great and have not caused blisters anywhere.
