Park Run Done ! But not finished Couchto5k

I will never run 5k in 30 mins ! But have set target of running it all and not worrying of time. Walked and ran on Saturday at Parkrun and was pleased with time 42mins, I would like my training runs to work towards my goal. I am starting week 6 this week do I keep to programme 2 days a week and then do one 5k a week ?

Any advice greatly received.

Stick to c25k programme, don't worry about targets and distance, it's the time that matters, then when you graduate consolidate 30 min runs, do c25k on Parkrun by all means, I did, but don't try and run 5k yet.. hopefully that will come in time..

Hey! Good work so far! Yeah stick with the program. Its geared to build you up to a continuous 30 min run...by all means walk/run those park runs!

It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get to the end of the program so yeah drop a run for PR I'd say.

Once you get to the end and your doing your 30min runs that's when you can consolidate and work on the distance.

Not many people will finish c25k and do 5k in 30mins...
