Raining π and π here today, but consolidation run 2 has to go ahead no matter what the weather.
Within a minute of leaving home I ran through some big pools of water π¦, I might as well have dunked my feet in buckets of water. Never mind, just crack on with the run.
Had to cross a road 5 or 6 times to avoid flooding on the paths. I wasnβt worried about getting wetter (impossible probably) , but more the risk of slipping in the mud in the deepish pools of water.
With all crossing of roads and running on the spot waiting for cars to go by, I knew today wasnβt going to be a fast pace day. Thatβs fine, I just wanted to run for about 33 mins again and get a few more kmβs under my belt.
A few dog π walkers gave me a few looks along my route today. They probably thought heβs mad running today π€£. Iβm fine with that too.
At the end of the run, absolutely everything I was wearing was completely soaking wet ... but in the nice warm shower back home I felt 10 feet tall and great for having done the run.
Next run, my first ever park run on Saturday. Happy running all πββοΈπββοΈππͺ

Wow, that's brilliant, and a great time for the distance, particularly considering the weather and obstacles.
Enjoy your first park run too, let us know your thoughts once it's done. I'd like to do one eventually but as a lone runner, must admit they do seem a little intimidating (which I know totally isn't the intention!)
Well done for getting it done, Martin, despite the rain β - I'm sure we're going to get some sort of reward for all this 'character building' running through winter weather! π
I see now why today is your run day - good luck with your first park run π π
I have signed up, it's on my list of things I want to do, but I'm not ready yet, but you'll smash it for sure βΊοΈ π π
Ah summer - the rain β will be so much warmer π
No, I'm having a little celebration on Saturday night, we're having a leaving do for two colleagues, at the Chinese, so there will be alcohol!! π» π₯ π₯ π₯
I want to get closer to 5k before I commit myself to park run, plus my nearest ones are all grassy, so will be knee deep in mud & I don't have the right shoes yet π
