I just discovered this forum and figured I'd drop in and participate. I found a C25k group on MyFitnessPal but it was pretty dead unfortunately.
I went through the program last August, starting when I was around 300 lbs (having lost 86 lbs previously). I did pretty well with it overall -- I had some soreness at the beginning but eventually I started feeling much better during my runs.
I've been kind of slacking this winter in terms of running, so I've decided to go through the program again, at least part of it. I ran twice last week, first two intervals of 10 minutes with a 5 minute rest between them, and then this past Saturday, one interval of 20 minutes without too much difficulty and no soreness afterward.
That's the equivalent of Week 5, Day 3, so I am going to restart the program from that point. I'm down to 274 lbs now and I'm interested in seeing how being a bit lighter will affect my performance / endurance.
I've signed up for a 5k race at the end of April and a 3.5 mile road race at the end of May to give me something to work toward.
The weather here in Upstate NY is finally turning a bit warmer -- I really can't wait to get running outside again.
