Running career over?

Hi , I’ve been doing quite well as a complete beginner completed week 1 fine, but picked up a knee twinge W2R2, slowed it right down for R3 on Friday but now hobbling around like an invalid! I take anti inflammatories anyway for arthritis in my hands and they help along with paracetamol but when they work off it’s so painful. So do I completely rest it till I’m pain free or will it become a long term problem? Any advice gratefully received thanks.

Is it worth getting it checked out Brum ? I had knee problems during w5 & was out for a while. I wouldn’t run till l was pain free, but it’s your call. Take care 👍

Please follow the advice in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... on dealing with injury.

Knee issues are extremely common for new runners, hence the advice in the guide on minimising impact, shoes, stretching after every run and knee strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
